Reduce plastic use!: The challenge
Utilizing single use plastic material is useful. But, is it beneficial for the environment? I think not. The impact from plastic has made a huge difference from a century ago. So let us reduce plastic use and join the challenge.
What is this challenge? This challenge is called Plastic Free July. Participating in this event will cause you to stop using anything plastic, such as plastic bottles, plastic utensils, plastic bags, plastic straws and more. Everything we use that includes plastic is prohibited. I dare you to do this challenge with me!
If you are aiming to not use plastic water bottles, here are a few things you should know. Instead of using plastic bottles, why not use a reusable bottle like a stainless steel bottle. Just make sure that the stainless bottle you are using is safe for your health. It is scientifically proven that some steel bottles are made with aluminium and that is poisonous. Safety first!
Plastic bags are another challenge you can overcome too! Did you know in New Zealand that the Government has banned Plastic bags from stores? You can use any type of reusable bags as long as they are biodegradable. Meaning.... This can help you for many things. First is, it helps the environment and second it can help you save money. That’s all.
The aim of this event is to create habits so you can use it for your lifetime. Sure, it say July but if you get used to it, Why go back? I'm sure for myself as I have had experience with this. Create new habits.
This is all for the environment. If we stop the use of Plastic then our land will be a happy environment. Stopping plastic is one of the things we can do to make a change and right now that is happening in NZ. Plastic bags getting banned have helped and that is not the end of making our earth a better place. For our earth, let’s end the use of plastic and join the challenge of the Plastic Free July!
