The first two slide in my prestation was to quickly revise on my measurement that we did recently and just things to touch base on as we only have a term left of school at Pt England. We finally moved onto Algebra! I enjoyed this topic of maths last year. My neural pathways were really strong when it came to this topic so I immediately knew what to do for Number Patterns. This made it really easy for me to solve. Enjoy!

Fresh Fractions - Maths 2020
WALT Add and subtracr fractions with different denominators
Task Description
I have been revising my knowledge on fractions. It has been pretty easy as we have been working on it for a few weeks now.In the slide above, at shows the maths problems and more. I also have been practicing how to add and subtract fractions with different denominators. Check my presentation out!

Sweet Fractions - Maths 2020
Task Description
For our DMIC lesson, we solved a problem about fractions. We worked in groups of three and solved each question and task that came with the overall problem. We didn't have much time but my group and everyone else were able to solve the questions and have the correct answer and strategy at the end. The lessson was very fun and I look forward to the next DMIC session we have.

Adorable Addition 1 - Maths 2020
Adorable Addition
We are learning to use place value to solve addition problems using whole numbers and numbers to 2dp.
Multiple and factors practice
Multiples of 6 to 10 = 6, 12 , 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54 and 60
Multiples of 7 to 10 = 7, 14 , 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63 and 70
Factors of 28 = 7, 4, 28, 1, 14, 2
Factors of 45 = 45, 1, 5, 9,
Factors of 14 and 28 = 7, 2, 14, 1
1. Kalani has $2.50. He is then given $0.80. How much more money does he have altogether?
2.50 + 0.80 = $3.30
2. A swimmer is in a 100 meter race. She swims the first half of the race in 32.34 seconds and the last half of the race in 34.83 seconds. How long did it take her to swim the whole race?
32.34 + 34.83 = 67.17 seconds
3. Pauline buys an apple for $0.90 and pays with a $5.00 note. How much change will she get? $4.10
$5.00 - $0.90 = $4.10
$0.90 + $4.10 = $5.00
4. Oali’i walks 0.7km to school and Jane walks 0.5kms to school. How much farther does Oali’i walk than Jane? 0.2km
0.7km - 0.5km = 0.2km
0.5km + 0.2km = 0.7km
5. One pencil weighs 28.3 grams. How much do 5 pencils weigh?
28.3 x 5 = 141.5
28.3 + 28.3 + 28.3 + 28.3 + 28.3 = 141.5
Show your working as you solve these problems:
1235 + 5643 = 6878
1200 + 5600 = 6800
35 + 43 = 78
6800 + 78 = 6878
54. 56 + 45.56 = 100.12
54 + 45 = 99
99.56 + 0.56 = 100.12
65.45 + 41.44 = 106.99
65 + 41 = 106
.45 + .44 = .99
106.99
23.67 + 75.52= 9.19
23.6 + 75.5 = 96.1
0.07 + 0.02 = 0.09
96.1 + 0.09 + 99.19

Algebra - Maths 2019
WALT: Plot linear equations on a graph
We did algebra equations and unfortunately we didn't get to do Mathletics. Why? Because we had to get ready for our tests coming up. Enjoy!

Measurement Recap - Maths 2019
Task Description
This week we have been recapping on Measurement so next week, we can go straight into Algebra. I did a little bit of it but I'm not that confident in it but I can definitely work on that with Mrs Stone and my friends. Enjoy!

Formula Posters - Maths 2019
Here are two posters I made to remind the class on how to find the Hypotenuse, Area and Perimeter of a Triangle.
I made a poster about finding the Perimeter and Area of a Isosceles Triangle.
I also made a Poster showing The formula for Area, Hypotenuse and Perimeter of an Right Angle Triangle. We also have a test on Friday, so if I try to remember the formula for Triangles then everything will go in a good direction!Friday, 16 August 2019
Morse Code - Maths 2019
Math week has begun and Room 4 Maths is going to try to fix some questions this week, including Morse Code. A team of technicians and physicists developed the Morse Code in 1820. One of those who developed a signal code that was labeled after him was Samuel Morse.Mrs. Stone has placed us in five teams. Me, Pisirina, Marika and Trinity are in team four. Unfortunately Trinity was absent today and for this year's college manufacturing Marika was at rehearsals. A few pieces of paper with some issues on them were handed out, each issue was worth some cash. The team with the most money gets a prize on Friday. We also earn Virtual money!

Versatile Volume - Maths 2019
WALT - CALCULATE PERIMETER, AREA AND VOLUME
Task Description
This week we are continuing on learning about Measurement. This time we are focussing on Volume. For Level 1 Circles and Triangles were very easy for me as I know the formula of figuring out the Perimeter, Hypotenuse and Area! Level 2 was the Volume of Shapes and that was easy too. The Cylinder was easy aswell because I already know how to find the volume. Level 2 - 3 was kinda hard but easy at the same time. My working and answers are all up in the Presentation. Enjoy!

World Wealth - Maths 2019
TASK DESCRIPTION
Since I have finished my work early this week, I decided to do some extra maths work with Zaeeda. Mrs Stone gave us a task called World Wealth. We had to calculate the population of each continent excluding Antartica, calculate the cookies and the wealth. The hardest part was turning it into a percentage. We then made a graph to show what we did. This is all in the presentation up above!

Daring Decimals - MATHS 2019
WALT - CONVERT BETWEEN FRACTIONS, DECIMALS AND PERCENTAGES
TASK DESCRIPTION
For the last week of the term we are finishing off the term with Decimals. Room 4 Maths started off the slides by doing Equivalent Fractions. Next we did two slides of Decimal Dilemma which is adding and subtracting Decimals. We then converted decimals into fractions then into percentages. I finished all the slides on the presentation so I guess you could I gave it my 100% (Get it! BTW it's a Maths pun). Enjoy!

Decimal Fractions - Maths 2019
WALT: convert between fractions and decimals
Task Description
Room 4 Maths is finally focusing on Decimals! We first started off by doing a recap on Fractions to make sure we have enough knowledge to move onto Decimals. Adding and Subtracting fraction decimals which were easy. On the 4th slide we converted fractions into decimals. This was easy as I was familiar with converting, thanks to Maths Whizz! We then converted decimals to fractions. Subtracting decimals was hard at first but if you know that each position in a decimal number has a value that is a power of ten then it will be easy. This was a fun process and I can't wait for more Decimal Fractions problems to solve! Enjoy!

Fractions Finale - Maths 2019
Walt - We are learning to multiply fractions
Task Description
For this week's Math's work we have been focusing on multiplying, adding, subtracting and dividing fractions. On these six slides it shows my strategy on how I worked out each question. This is our last time doing fractions this term. Instead we will be moving onto Decimals next week. SO watch out for that and enjoy my presentation!

Fabulous Fractions - Maths 2019
WALT: We are learning to find equivalent fractions
Task Description
For this task, Room 4 Maths focused on Equivalent Fractions. We had to add fractions by checking if they had an equivalent fraction that could make the question a lot easier. We also did the same thing with subtracting. On the last slide there is a Recap on Angles. Enjoy!
