What is DNA? - Inquiry 2019

For Genomics, our task was to make a poster about what we know about DNA.
We watched a video and read the transcript to have some facts and information for our poster. Enjoy!

  1. Hi Pisirina,
Nice to see your poster putting DNA, RNA, amino acids and proteins into context with each other. Even though DNA is really the master code for each of us, it is proteins that do most of the interesting jobs in our cells. One of the most obvious ones is the protein haemoglobin, which carries oxygen in our red blood cells (transporting the oxygen from our lungs to other tissues). But your DNA encodes more than 20,000 different proteins, and each cell in your body probably has at least thousands of different proteins in it, so as you can imagine things get complicated (and interesting!) really fast. Keep up the good work - and pleased to see in your blog "about me" section that you like maths. Stick with it - maths is awesomely powerful and a great skill to have in a career.
