A Way Of Talking - Reading work

Walt: think critically about an author's style

Task Description

This week's reading task was to read a short story and think very hard about how the author has written it. The short story we read was very hard to understand because it didn't give us much information because we had to analyse and pull out info to get a full conclusion. This helped me to get better at this skill which is analysing and getting information from a sentence or two. You can check out above to see what I am talking about!

For my Review I talked about the text I read, which is 'A way of talking'! I wrote a summary of the story, wrote about my thoughts, favourite parts in the story. Also what age I recommend to read the short story. That is also up in the presentation!

My create task was to imagine that we are Rose, who is a character from the story and describe how she is feeling and what she is thinking, when she hears Jane's remark. Check that up in the Presentation and anything else.

If you have any positive questions or feedback on my blog then feel free to comment. Enjoy!

The Gingerbread Chase!

Walt: write fractured fairytales

 Task Description
For Monday and Tuesday, we have been writing our own fractured fairytales. It is an ordinary fairytale but a few things are changed. I wrote about the Gingerbread Man, I have changed the roles around and added an extra character. It is mainly about Revenge but then it turns into a Happily ever after. We weren't allowed to start with ' Once upon a time ' or 'A long time ago ' instead we had to do something original and different. Check out my fractured story on the Gingerbread Man above also make sure to check out my partner's blog on this writing, LEILANI. Enjoy The Gingerbread Chase!

Attitude Talk (Part 2)

Yesterday, we had another Attitude Talk! Jannah was here to present her talk with her friend Tony. They are both from a company named ‘Attitude’. We just went over the same thing as last time but with more information. We also had more small games to play. We played a few mini games like create your handshake, Rate the compliments, and more. I had a good time listening to their advices on how to be a good friend. I think that we all learnt and are now being a good friend to one another. Everyone understood what they were talking about because at our School we are all a good friend but with these new advices we can be an even better friend to one another. Overall, we all had a great time and will carry these advices on how to be a great friend with us in our minds.

Task Description
We had another Attitude Talk with Jannah but this time it is not only with Jannah but with Tony. Read the Recount/Reflection above to find out more.
