Task Description

No, I am not changing neighbourhoods. Instead, I am writing about how our community has changed physically. Around our school and in Glen Innes, there are a few things that have changed. Take a look!

Reconnecting the Brain

Up above, we have a presentation all about this scientist who is experimenting with a brain. She enjoys her job. I had to write a profile and a review about her and the text that provides all of my information.

Attitude Talk

Today after lunch, we had an attitude talk. This was my first time being in a attitude talk which was the same for all the years 7's. We met a lady named Jannah. She was very humorous and kind. We talked about friendship factors.

She talked to us all about friendships such as types of friendships, ways and tips on how to make friends and how not to make friends. It was a educational lesson. I could relate to this because I have heard of the problems that she was talking about or I have experienced these problems. 

I was moved by the topic we were talking about. We talked about girl girl friendships which was very relatable. We talked about Guy guy friendships which was kinda relatable because I have an older and younger brother. The girl guy friendships were like off the chart but it was a good topic to talk about overall.

Task Description
This week and next week we are going to focus on Data and Statistics. This is a type of Math's that include different types of graphs. Polyfest!

Walt: Write a blog post about Polyfest.

This Wednesday we went to polyfest. Why?, because it links with our Inquiry topic this term. Ko wai au?,
Ko wai tatou? and Ko wai ratou? Who am I?, Who are we? and Who are they? It is about finding out
about ourselves,our culture and family.

Polyfest was such a blast! We were at the Diversity stage area playing games that
will help us with leadership and Teamwork. We played a lot of fun games. My favourite activity was
playing the scarf game.

The scarf game was about listening. The instructor would say heads,shoulders and more and we would
do what he said. When he said Scarf we would pull the scarf on the ground. I was against Jahzara.
I won 2 out of 3 rounds.

After 12:30, we got to eat and buy food at the food stands at Polyfest. I bought a Mango Smoothie with
my $5. We had a lot of fun eating!

That was it! We had a fun time overall.
Although we didn’t get to see any cultural stage performances we had a great time.

My special place

Do you have a special place in your heart? Well, I do and I go to this place every week day.
Can you guess what it is? If you guessed school, you are correct! Pt England School is an
amazing place for me and I will tell you why.

First reason is because of the diligent and precious teachers here at school.
They are so committed to the work that is given and have great chemistry with the students.
I know my teacher, Mrs Tele’a likes to communicate with us through her hilarious jokes. It
makes her and us smiling all day.

The events that happen at my school are very entertaining. We have lots of events not only for
the senior school but for everyone! We get visits from the bubblegum crew and the Duffy show
that everyone gets to watch. My favourite event so far, is Year Six Camp. We had a enthusiastic
time being a nice family and learning to cooperate with one another. I still can’t wait for more
events that are coming!

Learning! The learning here is unbelievable, from the little kids all the way up to the senior
children. We all try our best not only at the test but in class and outside of class. We even have
a new type of Maths called DMIC Maths, so we can all help everyone boost their own
confidence and skill at public talking and sharing their own ideas. That is why I like to do Maths
all the time.

Everyone is caring. Not only do the teachers care for the pupils,the students here at my school
like to take care of each other. We help each other by doing the little things like picking up
rubbish for the environment, teachers, and for our friends and family. Empathy is a big quality
that our Pt England students have, they put themselves last and everyone else first. We learnt
that helping one another is one of the most important things in life and I agree with that.

The final reason is the memories. The memories, the teachers and students created have been
in my heart. I am so grateful for this school because I got meet my friends and wonderful
teachers throughout these past years and it’s hard to believe I only have this year and next year
to make more memories in this school before I go off to College. So, I have to make the most
of this year and next year!

My Shield

As you can see, there is a shield above. This shows my Interests,Qualities,Values and Skills in the middle. On the outer Shields it shows my support crew, my next steps,pathways to my future and my dreams and aspiration. In the big shield I talked about what my interests,skills,values and qualities. My Interests are just things I am interested in like Kpop,Maths and more. My Values are my family,culture,Education, and friendship because they are important to me. Skills are about what I am good at which is Spelling,Maths and Singing and more. My qualities are my traits, Humorous,Empathetic are just some of my qualities. On the outside, the pathways to my future are what I want to be, the salary,useful objects and job opportunites. Lawyer is my 1st choice because my parents want me to be that and I agree with that choice. My other option is to be a Stylist for big stars. My dream is to be a Lawyer and be a substitute teacher for this school. My support crew is my family. 

Favourite thing to do at PES

Do you have any highlights that stood out in your school life?

I have plenty and I am excited to tell you what one of them are.
Today I am going to be explaining my favourite things at school.

One of my favourite events so far is Year 6 Camp.
We got do fun stuff like Abseiling,Kayaking,Raft building and jumping off the Pontoon.
The reason why is because we had an opportunity to go to
another place which was Kawau Island.

Another reason why is because of the item night.
On a thursday night, we had to do our chant and a item we had prepared for the last week or so.
We all worked hard together to have the perfect dance and chant.
What I loved about this night is that not only did we come second but everyone had a
great time dancing!

Last reason is the Bivouac building.
Bivouac is when you have to build a hut and it has to fit the whole group in it.
Me and Marika were a group and we made a decent house with wood.
There were a few holes so when we had to tip a bucket of water over the house,
Marika got wet on her head. That was funny.

Preparing for a test

Task Description
This task is about being test ready. This week we had a two reading test which is all about comprehension and Vocabulary. We had to read a text and answer the question. The other was about Synonyms and Vocab. This task wasn't tricky but wasn't easy. Hope you enjoy!

Raro Ratio!

For Maths we made raro. Why, because this helps us with ratios. Ratio appears in Cooking. So Mrs Stone thought that this is great idea since we are a trustworthy class. The ratio is 3 teaspoons per 250ml of water. This was a fun time!

Steps to becoming a Role-Model

Do you want to be a role-model? Well, you better listen up because if you want to become someone like me then I guarantee you will succeed. I have 2 secret steps to be the perfect role-model everyone wants. Read on to find out what those secrets are.

The first step to becoming a role-model is about your look and attitude. You will have to wear appropriate clothes and you have to have a good attitude. If you go to school and wear a uniform then wear it with pride and remember to always wear a smile to get the best look in your class. You will look like a leader, but don’t smile too much because that will make you look weird.

Secondly, you will need to show leadership. One way to show leadership is by being trustworthy,having respect,confidence and to just lead the way. As a leader, older and younger people will rely on you often. You must also always have respect. Respect for everyone and everything. Confidence is very important when you are a role model because you will have to do jobs which includes public speaking and more.
