Aue Rona! - Writing 2020

Task Description
I haven't posted a writing task in a while, so here you go! Like my reading task, it's about Rona and the moon. The object of our task was to choose whether you support or don't support with Rona getting angry at the moon. I chose the stance of supporting Rona. It took a while to actually understand the story so I can use the information from the Patricia Grace story in my own writing. I tried to make it seem as if I had the same emotions and mindset as Rona but not in her perspective, If you get what i'm saying (Probably not). Anyway, Enjoy!

There's a woman in the moon?!? - Reading 2020

Task Description
This is my reading task for this week. It is another maori myth and its about a lady and the moon. I remember learning this in maori class as a junior. Similar to my Maui presentation, I did the same tasks like breaking the text into word groups and finding "worthy" words. My create task will be coming soon so keep an eye out for that which will be another review!

Decimals Fractions FINALE!

Task Description

Hopefully this will be our last tasks to do about decimal, fractions and percentages. I was a little bit confused on the finding fractions in between fractions but I got a hang of it by converting it into decimals which made it much easier. This was a fast process as my knowledge of decimals, fractions and percentages. Enjoy!

Don't be mean, be above average!!!πŸ“‰ - Maths 2020

Task Description
DON'T BE MEAN, BE ABOVE AVERAGE!!
Today I learnt about scattergraphs and stem and leaf graphs. It was very time consuming and took a lot of brain cells for me to be interested in this type of graphs. Not my favourite but it's getting there, more practise and I'll be amazing at it. I got kind of confused at the scatter graphs when it asked about correlation. But I tried my best to answer it. I also made a Stem and leaf graph about the ages of people in my family. I also did the mean, mode and median for a few of the graphs. Still learning!

Stay safe and God blessπŸ’›

Line Graphs πŸ“ˆ !!! - Maths 2020

Task Description
This week we are focussing on Line Graphs. I am so happy with the graph that we are studying. The slides above was somewhat easy but it did take a hour and half to finish. My literacy strengths pulled through and help made the mathswork easy. I really liked the Covid19 graph slide a lot and wrote a long conclusion for the graph. I also created my own graph but Mrs Stone provided the information for our class to convert into a graph. The work was very fun!

My Hero - Writing 2020

MY HERO

A member of my family who I think is a hero is my beautiful mother who wishes to remain anonymous. I believe she is a hero because she has not only done a lot for me but also for my family. She wakes up at 6am in the morning to get ready for work as well as pack our lunch and get all siblings ready for school. She then returns home 6pm at night and cooks our dinner. For those of you that do not know but I am the middle child of 6 kids. Thats a lot of people that she has to look after and also clean after everyday. She does all of this with a smile on her face and hope in her eyes, never once have I heard her complain and thats one of the many reasons why I think she is a hero. She may not be famous or have super powers but that doesn't matter to me because the greatest gift ever gifted to me is to have her as my mother.

Task Description
Our Create Task was to write about a family hero and explain how they are a hero to you. This is my explanation. Enjoy!

Book Summary Chapter 2 - Reading 2020

Chapter of the book "How I didn't straighten my hair (And other life lessons)". There is also a boy who was introduced in the story. His name is Ethan, same age as Dora and lives next door to her Grandparents house. While her mom and sister were gone to a ballet event, Dora is left with her homework lingering on her mind. She thought of a brilliant and eye-catching information poster about Rainforests. Theodora still hasn't managed to find her 'thing' but it seems like she has another goal that she is desperately wanting to achieve.

Will she achieve her new goal? Who knows. We'll find out soon!

Book Summary Chapter 1 - Reading 2020

Chapter One of the book "How I didn't straighten my hair" is all about the main protaganist Dora explaining the dynamics of her greek family. There is a sense of jealousy/sister rivalry between her and her older sister who's still yet to be named.  My guess from this chapter is that the main reason for her jealousy is because her sister is the complete opposite of her both in looks and personality. Her sister has found her thing which is ballet dancing but Dora is still yet to find something that she enjoys and succeeds at and from what I've read so far it is not greek dancing, karate or hip hop. Hopefully in the next chapter we can see Dora explore more possibilities for what her "thing" could be.
