My final DLO at Pt England. It's a been a long 8-9 years at PES. I've enjoyed every moment here. I made it my job to finish it off properly by finishing my last DLO.

This term, our topic was Art Alive. For our animation, we had to create an art gallery about our life! An image of our family. An original graphic image of something we are passionate about and a painting of an artist we studied earlier this term.

Famous Artists Painting.
I researched about Vincent Van Gogh with my class. I chose a painting from his famous series of sunflower paintings. Vase with 12 sunflowers. He communicated his gratitude with this painting.

Passion.
I created an original image of my passion. Education. Math, Reading, Writing. I love all subjects at school. Ultimately, Education is to help us learn. But, it also helps develop our socializing skill and more.

Family.
I didn't have a photo with my whole family, but I managed to grab an image of someone important in my life. I added a cartoon-like effect to the photo which definitely made it look more artistic. It is an image of my sister and I. She reminds me of my younger self and I want to set a good example for her so she can follow in my footsteps. Once I leave, she'll be starting at this school. Family is something that lasts forever and is a gift!

Watch the video above to hear and see more information about each artwork. Thank you!

Shark & Octopus - Animation 2020

This is my animation for term 3 2020! This term's animation is about Myths and Legends.

The difference between Myths and Legends is that Legends are traditional stories that have been passed down through generations and is really exaggerated. Myths are just a made up story. Both usually have a moral behind the story.

My animation is about why it is safe to swim and fish in KamatuvΓΊ. Watch the movie above, to find out more!

Water Cycle - Animation 2020

This is my animation for Term 2. We've spent the whole term learning about the 4 spheres and now I've showed my learning through an animation about the Water Cycle to symbolise knowledge I have learnt about the Hydrosphere.
 Here is the transcript!

Welcome to my Animation.
Team 5 has been learning about the 4 spheres. Today, I’ll be talking about the Hydrosphere. The Hydrosphere refers to all liquid substances here on earth. The water cycle plays a very important role in the Hydrosphere. Let’s take a look at what it consists of!

Precipitation
Precipitation is rain, snow or hail that is formed in the clouds and falls down on earth.

Accumulation
Accumulation is when precipitated water is collected in lakes, rivers, streams and also the ocean.

Transpiration
Plants sweat! This is called Transpiration. Transpiration is evaporated water from surfaces of all living parts such as leaves and stems. Plants gain the water from precipitation through their roots with the help of Photosynthesis, which accounts for approximately 10% of all evaporation water whilst the rest is from surface water.

Evaporation
Evaporation is when surface water is changed into water vapor which is also gas.  This is done when heat from the sun breaks the bond holding the water molecules together making it easier to evaporate.

Condensation
Condensation is important to the water cycle because it is responsible for the formation of clouds. It is the opposite of evaporation and is the process by which water vapor is changed into water liquid. Once the clouds have held too much water droplets, it starts to rain, hail or snow. Then we’re back to how we started.

And that’s the Water Cycle! A continuous non stopping sequence or rotation with the many stages like Precipitation, Evaporation and Condensation. I hope you’ve learnt a lot with me. Ka Kite ano!

Cave Art ( Term 4 Animation )

Walt: show short fiction ancient stories through art back then.

Task Description

Welcome to Ancient Art Story-time with Pisirina. A long time ago, there was a small tribe that lived in a small country named South Korea. In their village there was a big mighty animal that was a king of a forest near their village. It was a wild Boar. The small tribe only  had 4 people until their tribe leader had been killed by the beast and the reason is well, you can read it on the screen. Anyway, that didn’t stop them from killing the beast. At night, they made a plan by killing the boar while it was asleep. Everything was going well until Luke had to ruin it by stepping a small branch.  It wasn’t that loud but it was loud enough to wake up the creature. Yay!, they finally killed the Boar with three spears. Luke and his friends moved the creature to a campfire they prepared before. They roasted the Boar and ate the roasted pork. That is the end of the short Ancient Art Story-time with Pisirina. Hope you enjoyed my crazy movie!

Animation

This is my animation. I hope you enjoy!

Here is my script.

Back in the day before europeans came, Maori had lots of technology and methods to make useful thing in their life. One of the products was a Waka. A Waka would’ve taken months and weeks to build. They might have carved a Totara tree into a narrow boat and used strips of harakeke to lash the woods together. To move the Waka, they would’ve needed strong men to move the boat .

Time flies by very quickly so when the europeans and pakeha came to new Zealand, factories were built because of the materials they had. So when more factories were built that meant more materials were made like metal and steel.

Before we had speedboats, the europeans made steamboats. One of the famous steamboats is the titanic. The titanic needed 500 men to move the titanic in the boiler room. Fast forward to the present, Nowadays we have speed boats because it is faster to get from one place to another. We use motors to push our speed boats forward.

Technology changes over time because every year new inventions and products are being made. People make technology to fix problems.
